* All text must be converted to outlines before
you send them.
Note: FreeHand, Illustrator and CorelDraw
are acceptable for page layout, but not recommended for documents
exceeding four pages in length. They are great for graphics
creation, but longer documents are difficult to manage, even
though FreeHand and CorelDraw support multiple pages.
Special Note about Illustrator Transparency:
Transparent effects in Adobe Illustrator are not recommended for
commercial print applications. All transparent effects must be converted
to bitmaps before they can be output for printing. If your design
calls for transparent effects, it is highly recommended that you
use Photoshop to achieve the desired effects. Transparent effects
can only be printed in process color. If you plan to use PMS colors
for printing, do not use any transparency. For more information,
read the "Flattening Guide" that comes with Adobe Illustrator.
Jobs may be submitted as PostScript, EPS, or
PDF. However, be aware that these formats are not designed for easy
modification. We may request that you make any necessary changes
to your original file and resubmit the job.

THESE PROGRAMS ARE NOT RECOMMENDED FOR PAGE LAYOUT:
- Any product from Microsoft,
including Word, Publisher and PowerPoint
- Wordperfect
- ClarisWorks (AppleWorks)
- Other presentation, word processing, home
publishing and drawing programs
These programs lack vital features that
commercial printing and prepress rely heavily upon, such as support
for Pantone® and process colors. If you do not have the proper
software and must use one of these programs, bear in mind that we
may have to convert or recreate some or all of the document, or
change the requested printing specifications, both of which may
result in additional charges. We may also request that you submit
the file as a PostScript or Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) file,
or as a text file without graphics.
Microsoft Publisher 2000 and later has some
additional color support, including Pantone color and process color.
However, Publisher does not support higher-end workflows that require
composite PostScript, such as the Rampage RIPping system we use
at Grunwald Printing. Publisher files with color will require additional
processing.
Graphics included in a word processor file
may not translate properly if at all. This includes charts created
in spreadsheets. If you plan to submit a Wordperfect or Microsoft
Word file that contains graphics, you will need to submit separate
files for the graphics in one of the formats
listed here.
Grunwald Printing Co. will not guarantee
the color accuracy or fidelity of any file created with programs
listed as NOT RECOMMENDED.
